DIMDEX 2022 concludes, organising committee starts preparations for 2024 edition

Doha: The 7th edition of Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX 2022), held under the theme “Connecting the World’s Maritime Defense and Security Community,” concluded yesterday. The three-day event took place at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).

Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Doha International Maritime Defense Exhibition and Conference Staff Brigadier-General (Sea) Abdulbaqi Saleh Al Ansari told Qatar News Agency (QNA) said that all participating delegations testified to the success of this year’s edition, highlighting that the organizing committee has begun preparations for the upcoming conference. He said that seven international companies signed contracts to participate in DIMDEX 2024, set to take place from March 4-6, 2024.

Brigadier-General Al Ansari pointed out that the good turnout and the great praise from exhibitors and visitors reflects the success of the exhibition and its progression one edition after the other. He highlighted that the exhibition had more than 20,000 visitors during its three days. He also said that the conference represents a good opportunity for major companies, given that it facilitates commercial exchange between manufacturers and governmental bodies. He highlighted that the deals announced during DIMDEX over the past three days reflects the conference’s status as one of the biggest in the world in the field of maritime security.

He added that the organizing committee provided an electronic system to facilitate communication between the exhibiting companies and official delegations. It also sought to coordinate between them to hold interviews and allow the way for deals to be concluded, a system praised by all exhibitors because it facilitates them to communicate with potential clients.

The Chairman of the organizing committee highly valued the role of the Ministry of Interior in organizing the entry and exit process for Hamad Port to follow up on the display of the visiting ships and the great flexibility they followed, which was admired and appreciated by all. He thanked all exhibitors for choosing DIMDEX Qatar and participating in its success, welcoming at the same time the defense and security community in DIMDEX 2024.

The 7th edition of Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX) was held on an area of 35,000 square meters, with 14 international pavilions and more than 90 VIP delegations participating. A total of 32 contracts, agreements, memoranda of understanding and letter of intent were signed.
